Book Review: Smile & Tag!

Today I will be reviewing a book called Smile by: Raina Telgemeier.

Smile is a full colour graphic novel.

Now before I tell you what's it about and my review I just wanted to tell you that I had the honor of meeting her and her husband (Dave Roman the author of Astronaut Academy) So Raina signed Smile and a few of my other books but here it is...

Whats it about?

Eleven-year-old Raina just wants to be a normal sixth grader. But one night after a trip-and-fall mishap, she injures her two front teeth, and what follows is a long and frustrating journey with on-again, off-again braces, corrective surgery, embarrassing headgear, and even a retainer with fake teeth attached. And on top of all that, there's still more to deal with: a major earthquake, boy confusion, and friends who turn out to be not so friendly.

My Review

Smile is a cute non-fiction story of the author Raina Telgemeier and surprisingly everything in the book is true from the boy drama to the cruel "friends" everything. 

Smile  is a wonderful book. I really did enjoy it, probably mostly because I recently got braces, I'm in middle school and sixth grade just like Raina in the book, however the book covers Raina's story from the beginning of middle school to high school. The book is  pretty relatable, which is why I enjoyed it so much. It's funny. I also liked the fact that it was a graphic novel. The pictures gave all the description the author needed so there wasn't extra text to delay the reader on what was going to happen next.

A: Hmm, well I never get tired of watching Titanic I don't know why it's mostly because I find the actual event of the real Titanic so fascinating, but it's Titanic!

A: Oh! That's tough maybe Kylie Jenner from KUWTK, just because she's so funny, and awesome

6. Q: If you could marry one celebrity-who?

A: Okay this is going to sound really weird but Drake for sure. I don't know why but I really love rap, it's probably the catchy tune of it, but it's Drake.

7. Q: You could live in a movie-which one?

A: Umm I don't know I like my life here.

8. Q: Biggest pet peeve?

A: When people think that they are so cool and exclude others.

9. Q: Biggest fear?

A: I'm not sure. I'll have to think about it.

10. Q: If you could change your hair color- which color? 

A: I'm not sure maybe a lighter brown, nothing too drastic or shocking, maybe even light brown highlights or something.
